Our Mission
Soap Aid is a not-for-profit organization committed to saving children’s lives through improved hygiene while positively impacting the environment.
Our humanitarian and environmental mission is made possible by our partnership with the hotel industry. We reprocess and deliver recycled hotel soap to disadvantaged communities in the U.S. and overseas.
Our impact partners work closely with local communities to provide vital hygiene education on the importance of handwashing with soap.
Together we aim to achieve lifesaving and sustainable improvements in global hygiene practices.
Soap Aid was born from a Melbourne family’s 25-year involvement in the hotel bath and body products industry through its family business, Concept Amenities.
CEO of Concept Amenities, Mike Matulick, witnessed the large volumes of discarded hotel soap thrown into local landfills each year. Recognizing this waste could help the growing crisis in childhood hygiene related deaths, Mike was determined to act and in 2011 founded the charity, Soap Aid.
The expansion of Soap Aid into the U.S. hotel market provides even greater opportunity to make the significant environmental impact as well as the core commitment to save lives.
Our People
Soap Aid’s dedicated team is passionate about using its skills to direct and support Soap Aid in its mission to save lives.
